Counselling is essentially a series of structured therapeutic conversations between a therapist and a client. As a counsellor I am here to listen, to reflect and to sit with your difficult emotions. I will always empathise with you and be respectful of your unique life, history and self.
People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes they've been or are going through a difficult or traumatic experience, maybe they are struggling with the relationships in their lives, or perhaps they are finding it hard to cope with their feelings of anxiety, depression or low self-esteem.
Whatever has prompted you to seek support; I can provide a safe space in which to establish the kind of caring and trusting relationship you need in order to explore the problems facing you. We can work together to carefully identify, express and work trough the past or present events and relationships that may have caused your current difficulties, in order to allow you to create the future that you want.
I work within the integrative style of counselling. This means that I am able to draw upon a range of knowledge and techniques, from a variety of different schools, in order to facilitate a therapeutic process that is just right for you as an individual.
I firmly believe that it is you, not me, who is the expert on being. It is my job is to use everything I have learned as a therapist to help you with whatever you are dealing with, so that you can get to where you want to be.
